BELIEVE THAT CAN MAKE PEOPLE SICK

June 24, 2009

The power of believe can help heal people. But it can also harm them. If a person believes strongly enough that something will hurt him, his own fear can make him sick. A Doctor's testimonies on that subject as follows:-

Once I was called to see a woman who had just had a miscarriage and was still bleeding a little. There was an orange tree near the house. So I suggested she drink a glass of orange juice9 Orange have vitamin C, which helps strengthen blood vessels). She drank it- even though she was afraid it would harm her..

Hear fear was so great that soon she become very ill. I examined her, but could find nothing physically wrong. I tried to comfort her, telling her  she was not in danger. But she said  she was going to die. At last I gave her an injection of distilled  (completely pure} water. Distilled water has no medical effect. But since she had great faith in injection, she quickly got better.

Actually, the juice did not harm her. What harmed her was belief that it would make her sick . And what made her well...

BELIEFS THAT CAN MAKE PEOPLE WELL

June 23, 2009

Some home remedies have a direct effect on the body. Others seem to work only because people believe in them. The healing power of belief can be very strong.

For example, I once saw a man who suffered from a very bad headache. To cure him, a woman gave him a small piece of sweet potato. She told him it was a strong painkiller. He believed her- and the pain went away quickly.

Clearly, it was his faith in her treatment, and not the sweet potato, that made him feel better.

Many home remedies work in this way. They help people largely because people have faith in them. For this reason they are especially useful to cure illness that are partly in people’s mind, or those caused in part by a person’s beliefs.

Included in this group of sicknesses are bewitchment or hexing ,

unreasonable or hysterical fear

Aches and pains

Anxiety or Nervous worry and some causes of:

Asthma,

Hiccups,

Indigestion,

Stomach Ulcers,

Migraine headaches , and even

Warts

Sometimes a person’s belief in a remedy can help with problems that have completely physically causes. Certain home remedies for snake bite have been mentioned . Many patent medicines...

Finish It

September 19, 2008

The life of a Christian can be described in one of four ways: as a journey, as a battle, as a pilgrimage, and as a race. Select your own metaphor, but the necessity to finish is always the same. For if life is a journey, it must be completed. If life is a battle, it must be finished. If life is a pilgrimage, it must be concluded. And if it is a race, it must be won.

Today It's "Frozen" Not "Chosen"

September 19, 2008

It has been suggested that the mark on many church people today is not that they are "chosen" but that they are "frozen."

Back to the Basics

September 19, 2008

It probably wouldn't work, but somebody ought to start a movement back to the basics. And again, it might be just novel enough to not only catch on, but to flourish. How long has it been since you walked into a store without seeing "New" or "Improved" written on every bottle? And toothpaste? There's a new ingredient added every week. If you don't have FL-7, Amalgam-58, ammoniate, fluoride, chlorophyll, etc., your teeth are sure to fall out before you finish reading the label. Regardless of how faithful you have been in brushing your teeth in the past, that doesn't count if you have missed out on the latest ingredient. It's a wonder people ever got their clothes clean in the past. Just think of it! They actually used non-miraculous soap, and often with "non-purified" water. What a world! Do you recall what happened to Coca Cola when they wasted multi-millions of dollars bringing out the "New" Coke? Improvement went too far and irate customers wouldn't drink the new stuff. Coca Cola almost immediately decided the old drink wasn't so bad after all. This time they returned to the old formula, but gave it a new name (Classic). What a world!... [More]

In Tune

September 19, 2008

Have you at sometime watched a symphony orchestra as a performance is about to begin? The musicians sit and stand about, strumming on strings, blowing into horns, beating on drums. There is a lot of noise, but no music. Then the conductor enters. He walks to his podium and steps up onto it. His eye sweeps the scene before him-all the musicians and all their instruments. He lifts his baton, pauses there for a moment, then he gives the downbeat. Instantly there is music; all instuments blend into one harmonious whole. Our human spirits are a lot like symphony orchestras. Within us there may be discordant elements, warring factions that pull this way or that, and we are out of focus, out of tune-we are just not together within. As an orchestra needs a master control, so do we. When we turn the whole focus of our attention to our Lord and acknowledge that He is in command, our lives will give forth harmonious music.

HOW TO START A RELIGION

September 19, 2008

How to Start a ReligionSomeone said to Bishop Talleyrand, one of the most astute men who ever lived: "The Christian religion-what is it? It would be easy to start a religion like that.""Oh, yes," replied Talleyrand. "One would only have to get crucified and rise again the third day."

CHRISTIANITY

September 19, 2008

Christianity

Which Is Your Choice? If you want your father to take care of you, that's Paternalism. If you want your mother to take care of you, that's Maternalism. If you want Uncle Sam to take care of you, that's Socialism. If you want some dedicated Communists to take over the government and take care of you, that's Communism (we would say slavery). If you want and are able to take care of yourself, that's Americanism. If you surrender all to Christ, and want God to take care of you, that is true Christianity. Of course, you'll be called a "square" or an "extremist," or a "crackpot," but you will have the best for time and eternity.

Who I Am In Christ

September 19, 2008

I am no longer a slave. I have been bought with a price. The ransom has been Paid by my kinsman redeemer, Jesus Christ. I am a child of God, an heir of God and a Joint heir with Christ. I am redeemed from the hand of the enemy, forgiven, saved by Grace through faith in Christ. I am justified, sanctified and cleansed by His blood. I am a brand new creature in Christ and a partaker of His divine nature. I have Been redeemed from the curse of the law and delivered from the powers of darkness And oppression. I am no longer led around by the lust of my flesh, instead, I am led by The Spirit of God and if I am led by the Spirit of God then I am a child of God. I am having all of my needs supplied according to His riches in glory. I abide Under the shadow of the Almighty and I am casting all of my cares upon Him because He cares for me. He has prepared a banqueting table for me in front of my enemies Had has anointed my head with oil. My cup is running over!... [More]
